glitter eggs...

Inspired by this and this... thought I'd give it a try, too. I just used plastic eggs. Painted some Mod Podge - placed torn pieces of paper, coated with more MP and let it dry. Took another coat of MP and glittered the eggs... this was just a first try. Thought it turned out fresh and fun... now if only the weather would think spring again!

better late than never...

A Toile party!?!?!? Hosted by Pretty Organized Palace... and I must participate... and admit that it did my heart glad to see Toile is still very much a part of decorating life.

In Emma's room there is a tiny bit of Toile... enough to make me happy! Colors in her room include baby pink, green, black and white gingham with touches of Toile... here are a few snap shots...

Photo #1: Toile bunny came from TJ Max back in 2002. I spray painted the shelf that I purchased at Michael's. The canvas-art with Scripture was painted by yours truly...

Photo #2: Toile plant stand purchased from Michael's in 2002. Toile pillow cover purchased on eBay. Black and white gingham chair found at a garage sale for $3.00 and I recovered it with fabric from Joanne's Fabrics with my 40% off coupon. Pink Toile bear from The Gap back in 2002... and the "E" amazingly handcrafted by Johanna... who needs to sell these things because they are truly fabulous. Wall color "Christopher Robin's Swing" from the Disney paints at Home Depot.

hello momma bird...

Good to see you this year... another kind of bird found a home in our tree last year. I hope you find the nest a good one... we certainly have great respect for you and your eggs. We will watch you from afar and be amazed at your beauty and mothering instincts... welcome to our tree! Can't wait to meet the babies...

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow
or reap or store away in barns,

and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.

Are you not much more valuable than they?" Mat 6:26 NIV

His are amazing... with space colors and details... I have not put his up on his wall yet... we're waiting on his bunk beds. The perfect touch to their rooms... goes with my whole decorating, de-clutter, organize and paint theme in my life currently... so happy!

I'm here!

I know we all have a lot going on... I have, too... yet not so much to blog about. So I guess nothing too exciting... But we did camp with other families from our church. And when I say camping I mean cabins with beds, running hot water, heater and a staff to cook for us. Call me spoiled... however, I do love the camp atmosphere. Nature, noises, exploring, skeet shooting, archery, horses... love all of that! But I'm not a roughing it kind of girl. Needless to say, we had a great time with the other families...

An update on my weight loss... *sigh* -- it's slow. I really need to get motivated. I'm certainly not going to win the B*ggest L*ser contest. But I'd like to be down 10 pounds before it's all said and done. Five weeks to go until the contest is over... and this nice spring weather should be motivational enough. The thought of getting into a bathing suit in three months should be my motivation alone! But it is what it is... one day at a time. Right?
